Our first blog!

Welcome to the first of what we hope are informative and entertaining blog entries about the real estate industry and any association news or event information that YNTK (you need to know). Ok, lets get started!

My name is Keara Langston and I am the Communications Director here at GHAR. We've been trying to learn some new ways to better communicate with you, our members, and this blog is overdue! This is how it'll work: A manager from each GHAR department will blog about a topic that could include an interesting committee decision, an upcoming event, or maybe something silly that's happened here at GHAR headquarters!

Here's an introduction to the list of BLOGGHAR contributors:

• Jeff Arakelian: Our fearless leader who is known for running a tight ship, his vast industry knowledge and quick wit.... hey, he's the boss and it's close to review time!
• Susy Hurlbert: Most likely you know Susy from various committees or perhaps you've seen her working the room at the annual Valentine's party! She's our GHAR personality - look for fun things from her blog!
• Keara Langston: I'm the writer so I don't mind saying that there is some pressure to make the blog spectacular! I hope to make you laugh at least once - and maybe learn a little something, too.
• Gina Micelotta: The Director of Member Services is usually the face of any association and it is no different here. Gina has a hand in all kinds of association happenings - from member education to golf registration!
• Shelley LaPaugh: Shelley is all things MLS. There's no question she can't answer - and she'll most likely have a story to back it up! There's no doubt that her experience will keep you reading.
• Christian Disbrow: As the IT Director here at GHAR, Christian is our go-to guy. He keeps our website on track and our computers virus-free! Look for him to provide some great technology tips.

Ok, now that you've met the crew you might have a better idea of what you'll find here. We're looking to incorporate some serious topics as well as some fun stuff, too. Be sure to check BLOGGHAR often so you can see what we're all up to - we hope to have a new blog each week.

After reading a bunch of technology articles about blogging, I've learned that it's not only more interesting but also more fun to get the reader involved. So tell us your opinions! Tell us your thoughts and insights! Feel free to comment away on anything you read. We won't take it personally - unless it's something positive. Then we will be the first to pat ourselves on the back.

We also want the word to spread so we can have as many followers as possible. Let your colleagues know, let your boss know, and let your industry friends know. Also, we will be sure to promote BLOGGHAR on our Facebook page (if you haven't become a fan then it's about time you do!).

Ok, this seems like it's been a good, positive start to our first blogging experience. Keep an eye out for more from the very talented and interesting staff at GHAR!
